Your YMCA Summer Update

Our summer has been sizzling both inside and outside our doors all summer. Our schedule hasn't slowed at all with a wide variety of classes to keep the die-hards going.   Our Health and Wellness numbers have stayed at an all time high at around 725 for the better part of the past couple of months.  In our Cross Training Center we've added yet another new piece of equipment, the Prone Leg Curl unit.

Our Barrier Free Fitness (BFF) Program, which targets populations lacking fitness/social programs, has been busy all summer as well.  From socials to fitness to excursions in the park, our participants have been enjoying the comradery.

Our morning babysitting numbers have remained quite high over the summer.  The growth in those little tykes is incredible.  It's such a pleasure seeing their excited, sweet little faces come through the door every morning so they can enjoy playing while their mommies, daddies and grandparents attend class or go to the Cross Training Centre.  Their morning ritual is to run straight to the kitchen, gather around the table and enjoy their morning snack with each other.  It's almost like those little tykes have their very own breakfast club!!!

Our Summer Day Camp Programs, operating at J.J. Curling and Humber Elemantary, have been quite busy, to say the least.  Our summer staff have been very busy keeping the fun and safe activities going all summer.

Our Community Youth Network continues to remain busy with lots of activities for our youth.  It's great to see our young dropping by to connect with their peers in a safe and fun environment.

We hope this gives you a little snapshot of some of the many great things we do here at the YMCA.  Stay tuned for our next update this fall.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
