CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Low Intensity Interval (NEW!)
This brand new class added to our schedule is just as the name implies. It's great for individuals wishing to work at a less intense pace but still wishing to work their heart and lungs while working all different muscles groups. Be sure to give it a try. You won't be disappointed!
Muscle Endurance (NEW!)
This class is designed to improve core strength, balance, muscular endurance and flexibility. The class is divided into 4 - 5 components. Each component consists of 1 cardio and 2 muscle endurance exercises. Exercise routines will be changed every 3 - 4 weeks. This class is great for all fitness levels
Cardio Kickbox (Back again this fall!!)
Mix up your routine with the balance, coordination and strength building moves of boxing or kick boxing. This moderate to high-intensity class is a great full body workout, incorporating a broad range of punches and athletic drills. This class will undoubtedly prepare you for whatever punches life throws your way.
Hi - Lo Circuit
Hi - Lo Circuit is a class suited to all fitness levels. This class consists of using Level I & Level II Intensity Cardio segments along with a series of strength exercises set up in your own station where you work independently at your own pace. The instructor will show you how to modify the exercises to target higher and lower intensities.
Zumba
Hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves combined to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away!! Designed for individuals of all fitness levels who are looking for something different and enjoy dancing.
Zumba Gold
This class is a modified, slower paced Zumba Class and is intended for the Active Older Adult, 'new-to Zumba' individuals and pre and post-natal women. Perfect for all fitness levels!
Circuit
Circuit is a class suited to all fitness levels. This class consists of a series of strength and aerobic exercises set in your own station where you work independently and at your own pace.
Gentle Gym
Designed especially for our active older adult participants. Also great for people who are just starting to workout. This class includes a bit of everything for your body to help improve strength, balance and flexibility and to help energize you for the day.
Step & Pump; Step/Circuit; Step Interval
If you enjoy basic step combinations and patterns using light weights, these classes are just for you. These amazing aerobic workouts are complemented by a strength and conditioning component that will get the muscles burning and heart pumping!
Toning
A class fit for anyone, where you can work at your own pace. A combination of upper body and lower body strength training exercises which will make you sweat and help you tone your body.
Yoga
This class is great for all ages and all skill levels. Yoga helps to increase flexibility, enhance muscle definition, endurance, and mental clarity.
Pilates (Returning to our schedule in Jan. 2013)
Pilates is a form of exercise which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. Great for all ages!
H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training)
H.I.I.T. is an exercise strategy that is intended to improve performance with short training sessions. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise which is beneficial to burning fat in a short and intense workout.
