CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Bootcamp (New!!!)
Don't let the name intimidate you.  This class is intended for all different fitness levels and is designed to give you an awesome workout in cardiovascular and resistance while working the room in different directions.  Try it!!!!

30/20/10 (NEW)
If you like a challenge and workout hard, then this class is for you.  With 30 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of resistance and 10 minutes of stretch and relaxation, you're bound to get the heart pumping and the muscles burning.

H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training)...Back again this fall!!!!
H.I.I.T. is an exercise strategy that is intended to improve performance with short training sessions. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise which is beneficial to burning fat in a short and intense workout.

Low Intensity Interval
This class is just as the name implies. It's great for individuals wishing to work at a less intense pace but still wishing to work their heart and lungs while working all different muscles groups. Be sure to give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Muscle Endurance
This class is designed to improve core strength, balance, muscular endurance and flexibility. The class is divided into 4 - 5 components. Each component consists of 1 cardio and 2 muscle endurance exercises. Exercise routines will be changed every 3 - 4 weeks. This class is great for all fitness levels.

Hi - Lo Circuit
While this class is not regularly scheduled, it will show up from time to time.  Hi - Lo Circuit is a class suited to all fitness levels. This class consists of using Level I & Level II Intensity Cardio segments along with a series of strength exercises set up in your own station where you work independently at your own pace. The instructor will show you how to modify the exercises to target higher and lower intensities.

Zumba
Hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves combined to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away!! Designed for individuals of all fitness levels who are looking for something different and enjoy dancing.

Zumba Gold
This class is a modified, slower paced Zumba Class and is intended for the Active Older Adult, 'new-to Zumba' individuals and pre and post-natal women.  Perfect for all fitness levels!

Circuit
Circuit is a class suited to all fitness levels. This class consists of a series of strength and aerobic exercises set in your own station where you work independently and at your own pace.

Gentle Gym
Designed especially for our active older adult participants.  Also great for people who are just starting to workout.  This class includes a bit of everything for your body to help improve strength, balance and flexibility and to help energize you for the day.

Step & Pump; Step/Circuit; Step Interval
If you enjoy basic step combinations and patterns using light weights, these classes are just for you.  These amazing aerobic workouts are complemented by a strength and conditioning component that will get the muscles burning and heart pumping!

Toning
A class fit for anyone, where you can work at your own pace.  A combination of upper body and lower body strength training exercises which will make you sweat and help you tone your body.

Yoga
This class is great for all ages and all skill levels. Yoga helps to increase flexibility, enhance muscle definition, endurance, and mental clarity.

Come in and enjoy a wide variety of classes conducted by YMCA Canada trained Fitness Leaders!!
